Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Shih Tzu / Mixed (medium coat). Eli is a very special little boy. He is a one year old 10lb Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix who was rescued from a family who could no longer take care of him. Eli has very limited use of his back legs. It's a little unclear how it happened but the specialist believes that it is genetic and not trauma. An MRI was completed and it was determined that Eli has a malformation at the base of his spine which surgery cannot fix. Our smart and spunky boy has started physical therapy and now has his set of wheels. His disability doesn't stop him from being a dog. He currently lives with multiple dogs and plays with them all, he has no fear. He definitely has a strong personality so a resident dog would have to be super playful and easy going. Eli has been neutered and is ready for his new life. He does not have bowel control so he is managed with diapers and belly bands.
