Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Meet Cu, which happens to be the chemical symbol for copper. The name is perfect for both her coloring and how smart she is! Cu is a 7-month-old terrier mix with a heart as golden as her color. Weighing in at a perfect 27 pounds, she’s the ideal size for snuggles on the couch or adventures on the trail. Her adaptable nature makes her a joy in any setting—whether she’s exploring new places or curling up for a quiet evening at home. With her sweet disposition and gentle spirit, Cu wins hearts wherever she goes. She’s playful, curious, and always ready to make new friends—human or canine. Whether you're looking for a loyal companion or a cheerful sidekick, Cu is ready to bring love and laughter into your life. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
