Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Oink! Oink is a 9-week-old Shepherd mix, playful, curious, and absolutely adorable! This sweet little girl is full of puppy energy and ready to find her forever family to grow and explore with. Like any young pup, Oink will need continued training, patience, and lots of love as she learns her manners. Puppies require constant supervision, needing frequent trips outside for potty breaks and consistent training to establish routines and good behavior—so a home where someone is home often is preferred. In return, she’ll bring joy, laughter, and endless snuggles. If you’re ready for puppy kisses and a loving companion, Oink is waiting to meet you! Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new dogs! .facebook/reachrescue

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
