Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please contact ADOPTION (adoptdoggieharmony) for more information about this pet. Active Tripod Lady is a cuddle bug, goofy, and eager to please. She is potty trained, good in the car, knows sit, very food motivated, in foster with medium to large dogs, enjoys a good Nylabone, sniffing around yard, occasional play with dog friend, and lounging on the couch with you. Wandered up to someone's home with a sock electrical taped around her mangled foot. Foot was beyond repair, we had to amputate. But this has not slowed her down, she has adapted beautifully. Age: 3 years Weight: 49 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs and older respectful kids Training: Housetrained, has some basic training Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: heatherjoyspromise To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
