Meet Benny! 5 months old | 20 lbs | Border Collie / Aussie Mix Benny is a bright, sweet pup looking for a patient and loving home to help him grow into the best dog he can be. At just 5 months old, he’s already crate-trained, making progress with house training, and quick to pick up household routines. He’s clever, eager to please, and full of potential—though he sometimes adds a touch of stubbornness to keep things interesting. He is so loving and so full of cuddles to spend on his favorite humans. True to his herding breed mix, Benny is intelligent and needs a family who understands the unique needs of Border Collies and Aussies. He thrives on positive reinforcement, and opportunities to work and play with mental and physical stimulation, to keep his mind active and sharp. Ongoing training and enrichment will be great to keep on his great development path. This shy boy needs love and patience to help him bond with new family. Once Benny decides you’re his person, his love and loyalty run deep. Sometimes he’s a playful puppy (especially with other dogs) and can be though his style can be too much some pups. A home with another compatible dog could be a great fit, with appropriate introductions. Benny has medium energy and exercise needs—he loves playtime and would benefit from a yard to stretch his legs. He’s still young, so he can’t be crated for long workdays yet, but with consistency and training, he’ll continue to blossom. Benny would do best with: -A family experienced with herding breeds and patience enough to help him build his confidence -Someone willing to continue his training and give him “jobs” to do -A yard to play and explore -Another playful dog (if compatible) If you’re looking for a smart, loyal pup who will be deeply devoted to his person, Benny may just be your perfect match.
