Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (medium coat). Hi! I'm Shayla! I'm an active young lady looking for the perfect home that will play with me during the day and cuddle up on the couch with me at night. I will need to be placed in a home with older kids. Inside, I'm normally a delicate sweetheart, but outside is when I let my wild side free! I love running around with my dog friends, but since I'm still a puppy, I gotta work on my manners a bit. I do have the tendency of jumping up at my favorite people when I get really excited and worked up, but even the perfect angels like myself need to have some mistakes to keep me humble. I enjoy running around with my dog friends, so be sure to bring any current dogs in the home with you to meet me! Since I'm so young, I do prefer dogs who can match my energy with playing. Sometimes I can be a bit too much energy for an older, more mellow dog.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
