Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Hi, I’m Mickey! I’m a sweet 4-year-old smooth black-and-tan dachshund mix—about 18 lbs—who loves cuddles, treats, and slow, cozy life. I have a heart full of affection and a calm spirit that shines when I’m resting in my dog bed, riding in the car, or curled up with you at night. I’m gentle with other dogs, people of all ages (including cats!), and I’m pretty good on a leash. I do wobble a bit on my back legs. I’ve had a recent vet check showing disc and hip degeneration, which explains some of my wobbles. But I am making solid progress in strengthening my legs with exercise. I have been working on my potty training, but sometimes I have accidents. Foster mom thinks that I do have some control issues due to my back legs...but I have been going much better recently and going outside most of the time. I adore food and am always near your feet in the kitchen—I’m a foodie, for sure! I’m smart, I learn quickly, and I’m ready for a loving home with someone who understands lifelong issues and will walk beside me with patience and kindness.
