Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Meet Rigby! Rigby is a 4-month-old terrier mix pup who is as sweet as he is adorable. He loves to cuddle, play with his dog friends, and be near his people. Rigby is wonderful with children, other dogs, and even cats, making him a great fit for many types of families. This little guy is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is working on his leash skills—he sometimes pulls, but he’s eager to learn. Like any teething puppy, Rigby enjoys chewing, but with patience and redirection he is happy to chew on appropriate doggie fare. He’s not much of a barker and usually only speaks up when he needs to go outside. He’s also not interested in chasing squirrels—he’d rather spend his energy playing and cuddling. As a young pup, he would love an active family ready to spend time taking him on all of the adventures out there! Rigby has the best puppy personality: playful, gentle, and affectionate. He’s ready to grow up in a loving home where he can keep learning and become the loyal companion he’s meant to be. Could Rigby be the perfect new member of your family? Apply to meet him today! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
