Description
Dog Breed: Husky / Mixed (medium coat). Remix is a wonderful and energetic 1-year old Husky. He is definitely a people puppy and is happiest being right beside you or following you about. Remix is very vocal and would love to have great conversations with you about all sorts of topics... especially about food. He loves food, all types of food, even food that you meant for yourself. He knows you are generous and will share with him. He is very smart and learns quickly (extra fast if there are treats involved). He knows sit, kennel up, up (getting into a car), release (like drop it), and he learned to respond to a new nickname in less than 48-hours. Remix did great with meeting new pups and making friends. He does understand when other dogs want space. Remix did great with brushing on his 2nd day and with a bath on his 3rd day so he may have had a bath before. As he is very vocal, he may do better in an environment where noise will not be an issue. Remix loves to run and give you the opportunity to give him belly rubs. He loves when you tell him he is a good boy. He is fully potty trained and will let you know verbally if he needs to go out. He kennels up easily and is great jumping into the car and riding in the kennel in the car. Remix is great with adults and we are sure he would be great with kids too. He does nibble a bit as he is still a puppy. In the week we have had him, he is already learning to nibble less and he should grow out of that phase soon. Right now, he is still jumping up on people, it is just his puppy energy and excitement. He just loves everyone. We are working on having him sit to meet new friends. He needs exercise everyday. He loves to run around the fenced yard. He can jump 4ft tall baby gates inside the house. He has not tried jumping the 5ft chain link fence outside. Remix walks great on a leash. But does not like to be restrained with hands. He flinches sometimes when you have your hand over his head. He is getting better as we build trust with him. Remix is rarely left alone as at least one of us works from home each day. He has not chewed on anything inappropriate. He is good with toys, but loses interest quickly. If you have other resident pups, you may want to start feeding him separately at first so they get used to each other. He eats very quickly. A slow feeder may be a good option for him. If you want a sweet and cuddly "shadow" then Remix is definitely the puppy for you. He is smart and energetic and would love to go on long walks, have in-depth conversations, and share your food with you. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
