Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Juniper finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Juniper | 1 year 4 months old Blue Heeler | Joyful and Cuddly Juniper is a sweet, playful, and affectionate Blue Heeler who is just over a year old and weighs about 30 pounds. She is almost fully house trained with minimal accidents and has been doing wonderfully with structure and routine. She loves walks and greets everyone she meets—dogs, people, and even cats—with a friendly wag. Around children, she is gentle and positive, making her a great family companion. This cuddle-loving pup is highly motivated by affection and has the cutest quirks—like resting her head on you, bouncing with excitement when her meals are served, and joyfully greeting her people after time apart. She enjoys squeaky toys, hard bones, and daily walks to burn off her medium energy before settling down for snuggles. Juniper sleeps soundly in her kennel overnight and has positive interactions with other dogs and cats, though she could also thrive as an only dog. The one area she’s still working on is learning to feel comfortable when left home alone—she gets anxious and vocal, but her foster family is actively working with a trainer to help her build confidence. Because of this, her ideal home would be with someone who isn’t away for long hours or who can provide doggy daycare, a pet sitter, or another furry companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate pup who will happily be your shadow and keep you smiling, Juniper may be the perfect match! If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
