Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Spaniel / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 450. Kelcie’s story started when she was abandoned at a dog park. Despite being left behind, she greeted her finder with a wagging tail and happily blended in with the people and dogs around her. From that moment, her sweet and affectionate nature shone through. Kelcie is a gentle, loving dog who thrives on attention and belly rubs—so much so that if you stop too soon, she’ll nudge your hand back down with her paw for more. She’s eager to please, affectionate, and patient, even when food or treats are involved. She eats calmly alongside other dogs and has never shown possessiveness or snappiness. While she does bark a little when first meeting someone, she quickly warms up and is soon leaning in for pets. She has bursts of playful energy but balances them with downtime, making her a versatile companion. Kelcie also rides well in the car and is as happy tagging along as she is curled up close at home. Her foster describes her as a “sweetheart” who will shower her person with loyalty and affection. Kelcie is looking for someone who can match her love of closeness and give her the steady companionship she clearly craves. Kelcie is from Texas. This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease and is available through our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due.
