Despite the upheaval, this little 9.7-pound girl has held on to her sweetness. At first, Lucia can be shy, but it doesn’t take long before she’s right at your side, looking up with those soulful eyes that seem to say, “Please pet me.” She loves closeness, enjoys being a lap companion, and has a gentle, affectionate nature. She’s crate trained, leash trained, and has a few endearing quirks—like covering up her food with blankets if she isn’t hungry. Lucia does well with small dogs and would enjoy having a companion, especially since she’s already been a mama. She’s playful but low-key, preferring calm attention and snuggles to constant activity. Because she’s timid and may look for an escape route in a new yard, her adopter should take things slowly at first and walk her around the neighborhood in all directions so she learns her way home. With patience, kindness, and security, Lucia will blossom into a loyal little shadow who’s happiest simply being near her person. Lucia is from Texas.
