Dog Breed: Great Dane. LOCATION: Pittsburg, TX DOB: 08/25/2022 Meet Lickity Splitz, or Splitz for short—a striking Harlequin Great Dane with a personality as big as his 102-pound frame. Don’t tell him that, though—he’s convinced he’s a five-pound lapdog and will happily try to curl up beside you like one. Splitz is goofy, playful, and full of energy, always ready for a round of zoomies or a game of chase with his dog friends. He loves kids with all his heart, though his size and bouncy nature make him better suited for families with older children rather than toddlers he might accidentally knock over. Splitz has a few quirks that make him extra endearing. He’ll sit on the couch like a human, bounce around like Tigger, and shower you with kisses when he’s feeling extra affectionate. He’s great with other dogs, even if they’re a bit snappy, and he loves to run and play with them. Cats and small dogs, however, intimidate him—he’s convinced they’ll eat him alive! He’s also a little unsure around men at first, but with patience, he warms up quickly and shows his sweet, loving side. At night, Splitz wants nothing more than to snuggle up in bed right next to you. Be warned—you might find yourself pushed toward the edge of the mattress, but he’ll make it up to you with cuddles and devotion. He’s still working on housetraining and will sometimes mark, but he’s learning, and he’s scheduled to be neutered soon, which should help. He pulls a bit on the leash but enjoys walks and does well in the car. With his high energy, Splitz needs a home that can keep up with him—lots of space to run, a secure fence, and an active family who will include him in their daily adventures. He would be happiest with people who love to play as much as he does and who will give him the consistency he needs to grow into his best self.
