Once a stray on the streets of Minneapolis, Henry was rescued by The Rescue Crew and is now thriving in foster care. He’s housebroken, crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and adores meeting new people and friendly dogs. Henry is quiet (he rarely barks!) and loves nothing more than curling up at your feet or snuggling in close. He’s also learning how to “be a dog” — discovering toys, playtime, and the joy of zoomies! Henry would do well in almost any home — whether an apartment or a house — as long as he gets daily walks and plenty of love. He hasn’t met cats yet and would do best with respectful children. If you’re looking for an affectionate, well-mannered little companion, Henry might just be your perfect match! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
