Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. We are so excited to introduce this adorable family of pups and their sweet mama, Pumpkin! Pumpkin is a 4-year-old, 40lb beauty with the most gorgeous fur, and now her little ones are ready to find families of their own. The puppies are about 8 weeks old, have started their puppy vaccines, and will be spayed or neutered when age appropriate. They’re at the perfect age to join families dedicated to raising a puppy—keeping them social, teaching good manners, and doing all the fun (and important!) puppy work. Acorn is a male, Chestnut is a male, Apple is a female, Leaf is a male, Cider is a female, and Boots is a male. Each one is bursting with personality and ready to wiggle their way into a forever home.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
