Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). to adopt or ask questions: dogs2ndchance/ Meet Bailey: Bailey is a 14 month old (as of August 2025) terrier mix that weighs 35 pounds. Bailey was found with his brother (Baxter) on a country road at an abandoned run down house on the middle of winter. These babies were thrown out like trash and were scared - it took a rescuer a few days and many treats to convince them that it was ok yo come to them for safety. Now that they are safe with their foster, they have shown that they are happy, playful, loving pups! Bailey is currently in a foster home in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bailey is a very loving boy! Bailey is laid back and enjoys playing, but would prefer to snuggle up and be loved on. Bailey is the ultimate cuddle buddy! Bailey loves kisses and snacks - lots and lots of snacks! Bailey is getting over his fears of being mistreated and is ready for his own family to shower him with the love he deserves. Bailey gets along well with other dogs and has done well with the 12 year old child he has met. We would love for Bailey to have a home with a fenced in yard to run and play freely. Bailey is working on his house training and is so close to having it mastered! Bailey is up to date on his shots and is neutered. Thank you for considering adopting a new family member. Memphis area adoption fee is $250 All dogs are spayed or neutered {unless medical issues prohibit the surgery}, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested {if old enough} and treated if necessary. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
