Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Rottweiler / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 600. Hello, my name is Scout and my foster says I am the "BEST PUPPY WE HAVE EVER FOSTERED!!" I was born in an abandoned home and my mom and dad were taken by animal control, but they couldn't find me or my siblings. Thankfully, a neighbor kept checking and eventually found just me. Just in the nick of time because I was in rough shape. I had mange, was malnourished, and generally didn't feel well. The neighbor did her best to take care of me until I was able to get into rescue. Now, in rescue, I am sweet, playful, happy and healthy. Well, mostly healthy. My legs have something called Angular Limb Deformity from malnourished and with adequate nutrition, I should grow out of it. But I walk with my front legs turned in right now and I'm a little slow and get tired kinda quick because of it. I love kids, other dogs, cats, you name it, I love it!! I am a gentle giant ( my foster thinks I will be pretty big). My foster says that it will be super hard to send me off to a new home because I love to follow them around, be snuggled and play with my toys, but if they find me a special forever home, they can help other puppies. Scout is from an Owner Surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Breed overview

Overview:
The Boxweiler is a powerful and muscular dog whose origins come from rottweilers and boxers. Therefore, they have a strong drive to protect and please their families. They have a deep chest and a double layer coat with either fawn or brindle coloring. While all puppies have lots of energy, a full grown boxweiler is not a hyper dog and does not like to wander far from its family or home. It is alert and cautious around strangers, but friendly and goofy with family and friends. Proper socialization, like with any protective dog, is key.
