Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Albany, NY Meet Jack: the 15-pound heart-melter who’s stealing people’s hearts one shoulder snuggle at a time I’m 4 months old, crate-trained, working on potty training , and I sleep through the night like a tiny angel. I know “sit,” , I’m learning “wait,” and I’m so treat motivated that I learn quickly. I also love playing with my big brother, Dewy! I’m a pint-sized heeler mix, but don’t let that fool you—I’m mellow, sweet, and I don’t nip hands (I’m a gentleman, thank you very much). I get a little shy with new things, but once I warm up, I’m all tail wags and cuddles. But just because I am mellow does not mean I am not quick. I love walks and I can run like the wind. I might be great at agility! Looking for a loyal sidekick with a soft heart and a gentle soul? I might just be your guy. By the time of adoption Jack will have been dewormed t wo times, received his round of vaccinations, and been microchipped. He will go out on a spay/neuter contract. Email Sue (foster mom ACDRA) at suesukup123gmail . Application can be filled out at .acdra/adoption-application .

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
