Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Julian is 5 months old and excited to go his forever home. He has a fun and quirky personality! Cuddly but with healthy boundaries. Loves receiving affection but doesn’t ask to be held. He will climb on your lap and will leave once he needs his own personal space. This boy is loving but also independent. He gets along with pups of all sizes. He can eat next to other dogs without any issues. He sleeps in a crate at night without any issues or accidents. He still needs training with leash-walking. Like every puppy, he loves plush and squeaky toys and gets very excited around kids! Rescue story: Julian and his siblings Jameson and Jinx were found alone on a road by their foster mom who works as a USPS driver. Unfortunately, no mom was around. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
