Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed / mixed. Hi, I'm Phillip J. Fry, but you can just call me Fry! I'm still new to the shelter so they're still getting to know me. It can take me some time to get used to new people, but if you give me a chance I promise you'll love getting to know me! I lived with two kids in my previous home and did absolutley amazing with them and they were amazing with me. I know how to give hugs, sit, come, and leave it. I've done fine with other dogs, as long as they are fine with me. I have potential to live with cats, as there was one in my previous home that I liked to chase. With some training, this is a habit a can break. I'm a very smart boy! My previous family said I do fine in the crate when they're not home. I am very afraid of car rides. Come meet me, I promise you that I'll be your best friend!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
