Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Meet Oreo! Sweet 2 year old Oreo is a Poodle mix with a lovely brindle coat. She is around 20 lbs. Oreo is spunky and playful and plays well with other dogs. She does need a moment to warm up to new dogs but she adjusts quickly. She has lived in a home with cats and is playful with them too. She may give chase, though she will not hurt them. With humans she is very snuggly and loving and wants to be close. She can be a little fearful in new situations. Oreo is very food motivated and could have a lot of fun with training with an owner who had the time for it. All around she's just really sweet and playful and wonderful. Oreo is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
