Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hi, I’m Bambi! I’m a sweet little pup with what people like to call an “old soul.” I’m not your typical high-energy puppy — I much prefer snuggles on the couch or curling up under a desk at your feet over constant zooming around (although I do get the occasional silly zoomies!). Give me a cozy blanket, a good view of the squirrels outside, and a bully stick, and I’m one happy girl. I’m still learning that the world is a safe and loving place. I can be a bit shy at first and might take some time to warm up to new people — but if you’re patient and gentle, I’ll become your loyal little shadow. Once I trust you, I’ll be by your side through everything. I'm making progress every single day — I even did great when we had a house full of adults and kids recently! I’m doing super well with potty training (hardly any accidents!), and I sleep through the night in my kennel for about 7 hours without needing a potty break. I enjoy going for walks and I’m learning to walk nicely on a leash. I also like car rides and exploring new places — as long as I have a person I trust with me, I’m open to little adventures. I live with a 4-year-old human right now, and I think kids are pretty fun! I can get a little excited sometimes, but I’m easy to redirect when I need to calm down. I haven’t lived with other dogs yet, but I’ve met a few on walks and got along with them just fine. I’d probably do well with or without a dog sibling, as long as introductions are slow and kind. I may be a bit timid in the beginning, but I promise I have so much love to give. I’m looking for a forever home that’s calm, patient, and full of snuggles. If you can give me the time and love I need to blossom, I’ll be your best friend for life. Love, Bambi Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
