Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Simon! This little pup is just the cutest! He has a lovely temperament to boot. We're not sure what his breed mix is but he has a scruffy coat and a terrier look to him. He is just around 5 months old and will likely grow to around 18-22 lbs when full grown. From his foster family: Simon is a sweet and gentle soul. Loves all people especially children - he gravitates towards them. Loves to play and snuggle. Does phenomenal with other dogs - both big and small. Doing well with his potty training, he can hold his potty for a decent amount of time, but still needs more attention to be 100% housebroken. He is doing very well with leash walking, loves to walk and explore. Simon is still getting used to loud noises on his walks (and vacuums) so he will need some patience and encouragement in this area. Loves food and is smart, he will be easy to train. Working on kennel training. He spends his nights in a gated off area with a kennel and will choose to sleep in the kennel often, but will also need more work in this area if his adoptee finds this important. For a puppy, his temperament is lovely and his energy level is low to moderate considering his age. He’s very happy to snuggle up and rest with you. He’s really the sweetest boy. Simon will be vaccinated and microchipped. He will be neutered at our cost around 7 months of age. His adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
