Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Hi, Iâm Opalâa 5-year-old, spayed female cattle dog mix with the energy of a toddler on espresso and the snuggling skills of a professional blanket. My previous family couldnât keep me, so now Iâm on the lookout for a brand-new human to adore. Could it be you?Iâm sweet, smart, and activeâbasically the full package. I love hiking, exploring, and yes, enthusiastically alerting everyone when a bus dares to roll past my street. After a good adventure, though, I transform into a world-class cuddle bug who proudly accepts belly rubs as payment for services rendered.Do you enjoy hiking, exploring, and pretending buses are suspicious? Excellent. Iâm loyal, cuddly, and ready to be your shadow (in a cute way, not a creepy way). I come with classic herding-dog features: brains, energy, and the occasional âI must supervise everythingâ stare. Please come adopt meâI miss having my own person to love!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
