Description
Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Mixed (medium coat). My adoption fee will be waived from 10/14-10/19 during the CREEP IT REAL and ADOPT A NEW BOO adoption event! Teddy is a sweet and shy little fella who is looking for a special home of his own. He came to us with limited information on his history, but he has been settling in at his own pace since coming to us. Teddy has been very nervous of new people and situations and will need his family to give him plenty of time and patience to settle into his new environment. Once he gets comfortable he loves to roll his favorite pink ball around the floor and lean into neck scratches from his favorite people. He has been housetrained here and he enjoys going for leisurely strolls during the day.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
