Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Terrier / Mixed. Inday is a 1.5 year old Heeler mix and a hilarious sidekick! At 40 pounds, she loves to flop dramatically on her foster brother (Posto) as if claiming him as her pillow. When she gets the zoomies, her happy hops and sideways pounces are pure comedy gold. Inday is a high-energy girl who adores zoomies in the yard, tumbling with her foster brother, and exploring on walks. She loves puzzle toys and chews to help her settle. Because of her energy level and high jumps, a fenced yard is recommended but may not be necessary if given enough enrichment. She will require a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes) due to her noise level. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, settling well into her kennel at night. Smart and curious, she’s always close by, following her humans room to room with bright, curious eyes. She can be a little unsure when in a new place or when left alone, but her history has made her deeply grateful for companionship, and she’s blossoming into a confident, affectionate pup who craves connection. Inday does well with other dogs and is mostly neutral towards them, taking gentle corrections. She does not have experience with cats or kids, though we suspect she'd do well with little ones if given a proper introduction. Inday is ready to find a loving family who can match her energy and give her the companionship she deserves. Could that be you? If you are interested in Inday, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - pethavenmn/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $450. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
