Dog Breed: Dachshund / Corgi / Mixed (short coat). Meet Olive, a sweet and playful 6 month old puppy with a heart full of potential! Her legs may be short, but that doesn’t slow her down. Weighing in at 15 pounds, Olive brings a lot of personality in a small, adorable package. She might be a Dachshund and Corgi mix of sorts, though that’s just a guess, but what we do know is she’s got a sleek black coat with a white blaze on her chest, expressive eyes, and a long tail. Olive is still a bit shy at first, but with kindness and patience, her affectionate nature begins to shine. She’s already mastering stairs and leash walks. Olive is crate trained and making excellent progress with her potty training, though she’ll need continued consistency as she settles in. She’s very submissive with other dogs and may do best in an active home with patient people, possible dog savvy kids, a canine companion, and space to run and play. Apartment life isn’t her style, especially with her bold little bark. Olive is looking for a family who understands that shy puppies need a bit of time to blossom, but once she feels safe, her playful and loving personality comes through. She will keep you laughing. Olive is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, on preventatives, and ready to start her next chapter with puppy training classes and a family! All she needs now is a little time to finish acclimating to the Nebraska good life…a life she’s only just begun to discover after being picked up as a stray on the streets of Texas and landing in a high kill shelter. Her adoption donation is $425. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
