Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). OTHER PETS: Atlas invited play with both dogs he met but was more relaxed and open to feedback from one dog, and not as much with the other. Dogs are individuals, and have unique personalities, and Atlas is a little picky about who he hangs out with. Atlas should meet any dog he would be living with prior to adoption. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Atlas would do best with the guidance of an owner experienced with positive reinforcement, and providing apporpriate exercise and mental enrichment. [Very Experienced] KIDS: Atlas is friendly and curious, and he is a dog who enjoys leaning with his entire weight against you; combine that with his tendency to jump into laps when excited and you have a dog that might not be a good fit for smaller humans. Atlas' best fit would be with an active household (with older children,) any minors that would be living with Atlas should meet him prior to adoption. [13+ / Dog Savvy (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: As an active pup, Atlas will need regular exercise, combined with mental enrichment such as food puzzles and games to meet his mental and physical needs. Enrichment can also include learning new skills with positive reinforcement, regular walks, and playtime. [Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Atlas bond with his new owner and help him learn new skills and tricks. Positive reinforcement training helps build confidence while bonding with his guardian, making him a great candidate for adventures. [Moderate] GROOMING: Regular brushing will maintain Atlas' coat; some owners seek help from professional groomers when huskies shed their inner layer of fur twice yearly.
