Dog Breed: Shepherd / Hound / Mixed. Hi, I am Cali! Like a Cali(fornia) girl, which fits perfectly considering I love to be outside and bask in the sun, go for walks (decently on the leash)! I am a pure mutt mix, it's almost like "Honey, I shrunk the shephard" as I am only 31lbs. In my small little stature, I am 100% love bug, I adore people! If you are looking for a (California girl), who needs all the attention, that is me! I don't mind other dogs, but since they don't have thumbs to throw my toys with (fetch is such my jam!)--- I prefer the people to play with me! Even though, I do love a good play sesh- I am just as happy to lay around while you work or do chores (they are so not my thang!) You know what else I like, I love to be brushed, it feels so good (and you can use my fur to keep the deer away that you pull out of the brush). I was also good during my bath!! I am housebroken when kept on a regular schedule, crate trained, and ready for my furever home today, and I will be ready to go home 10/1/2025. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Pgh PA 15144.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
