Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: ME Biscuits is a 9 week old heeler puppy with a big personality and a sweet snuggly side. She loves to wrestle her best puppy pal and is known to sometimes lie in wait and then spring out for a huge puppy tackle! She likes all kind of squeaky toys and chew toys, and often gets a very strong case of the zoomies when she is let out into the yard. Biscuits is being fostered in a house with two young kids, one of whom is a 3 year old with boundary issues and Biscuits has been nothing but sweet and patient with the kids. Like all puppies, her play involves nibbling and she’s been very gentle with both of the kids as well as the grown ups. Biscuits is already doing very well walking on a leash, and she’s already shown a huge interest in fetch. At only 8 weeks, we could roll a ball in our back yard and she would actually bring it back and drop it right at our feet. She is very treat motivated and should be very easy to train. She already sits on command and is working on recall but would do best with a fenced in yard and someone who will exercise her body and mind daily! Biscuits sleeps in a crate with her puppy pal, and she shares her toys and her space. We take her food bowl and her chewies away while eating them and she shows no signs of resource guarding, she just patiently waits to have them back. She has adorable puppy breath and very soft fur and she loves to give kisses and snuggles and is just overall a five star pup who’s going to make someone very happy! Biscuits is being fostered in Portland, ME. She is already microchipped and by the time of adoption she will have had a second round of vaccines. Contact jeannetteandregmail. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
