Dog Breed: Chihuahua. What an adorable looking chihuahua this pup is. Just look at those dark eyes, black nose, and those amazing ears. Holly is 8 months old and weighs in at around 9 pounds. She has a short white coat. Holly and her sibling were found as strays and came to the shelter together after being rescued. Chihuahuas are known as tiny dogs with giant personalities. They are loyal and loving, wanting nothing more than to be with you. They love people attention. They are often quite smart, quick to learn, and to process information. Quirky at times but also quite playful, they like to be active. They are often bold and confident. They definitely have an enthusiasm for life. That seems to fit her description as Holly is very sweet, loves playing with toys and other dogs. Belly rubs are a favorite. It is not known if Holly has ever met a cat since coming into rescue. She gets along with the dogs and the kids. As to training, she is leashed trained. Establishing a routine will let you know if she needs a refresher course in house and crate training. Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. Please note: No running with her, until after the age of one when her growth plate closes. A secure back yard will give her free time to play and burn off extra energy.
