Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. TRUMPETT - 6 months - 1 yr old, 40 pounds, friendly, active, puppy! Trumpett was found as a stray and never reclaimed. We don't know how someone could not miss this petite brindle and white girl with the straight up ears? She is active and friendly. She seems like she would be good with children but we always strongly encourage supervision when it comes to children and pets. We tested this little girl in our playgroup. She didn't seem too experienced with other dogs. She sniffed and let others sniff her appropriately. She ran and chased others especially when they ran fast past her. She was very vocal as well and let me tell you her growl and bark is deep and tough. But don't let it fool you! None of the other dogs reacted to this and instead just looked at her with a confusing look. LOL We believe more time with other dogs will help give her more experience and thus silencing her growls and barks a bit. She is a fast one, too! Her small frame and athletic build enable her to charge super fast around with the others. Trumpett would likely benefit from daily training to help her grow into a well-balanced and well-adjusted adult dog. Trumpett is currently in our medium dog adoption kennel. Come on out to meet her!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
