TOPHER - PIT BULL TERRIER / MIXED (MEDIUM COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Description

Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). TOPHER Topher is a sweet boy with a charming, goofy personality that leaves everyone who knows him smiling! He has made many friends at the shelter and on outings - both human, and canine! While Topher is always ready to romp with energetic dog friends, he is also good at giving older or mellower dogs space when needed. On a weekend sleepover Topher did well in his crate overnight and when his fosters went out without him; he also showed us he is house trained. His volunteer friend says `Topher can be pretty hilarious and enchanting - he is often the picture of stoicism sitting quietly with his paws crossed waiting to be taken for a walk.` Topher is food motivated, learns quickly, and is just an all-around happy dog (his joy is contagious!). He loves romping through the snow, playing in the shelter kiddie pool, and lounging in the sun. Topher is a 10/10 couch cuddle buddy and after his sleepover we think he even has potential to live in a home with cats! Topher weighs 61 pounds. Additional info from his foster family: We have not had any incidents with Topher and our cat and feel pretty comfortable with him around her. Topher has not had any potty accidents in the house and has not been any trouble getting into the crate. He eats his meals and sleeps all night in the crate without issue, and also spends time in there during the day when we are gone. Topher has not destroyed anything in the home, and has not counter-surfed at all. That being said, we haven't given him a ton of opportunity to just be unsupervised and roaming. Overall, Topher has been a pretty easy keeper. He is sweet, loves to cuddle up on the couch, enjoys little walks around the neighborhood (walks nicely on a gentle leader/halti), and is eager to please. I think he would make a great addition to any family, especially if they already have a dog.
