Dog Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Bichon Frise / Mixed (medium coat). MJ is the cutest little guy with a big attitude. He definitely is battling with the little Napolean complex. At first glance he looks like a small fluff but don't be fooled he is a warrior at heart. MJ wants to protect and defend the favorite person he cherishes in his life. He is a territorial little guy with a super loving heart. He has been undergoing training and has actually learned to be a calmer less reactive version of himself, but this boy needs a lot of guidance. MJ would do fine in a home with a dog that can keep him in check and might even ignore cats ultimately. He needs an owner that is loving but firm with boundaries. MJ has proven that living in a high activity home is very hard for him and he will try to bite guests and kids, so we firmly believe he would be better off in a home with only adults. He isn't the friendliest dog but definitely has good manners out on a leash and behaves well in public. Most of his territorial issues are in the home. MJ will favor a person over another, so it's important to keep in mind that he has a high guarding instinct. MJ likes toys and will play fetch, he is pee pad trained for the winter and uses it well, he is a clean little guy in the house, is crate trained and even does great in doggy daycare and at the groomers. He is a dog that needs regular grooming as he has the poodle hair that will keep growing and needs to stay maintained. He is a courtesy post and is still living with the original owner and the rescue will offer post adoption training help if needed and guidance.
