This super sweet, handsome Terrier mix is about a year and a half old and weighs in at a healthy 46 pounds of pure love! With his stunning blondish-tan coat, beautiful big brown eyes, and athletic build, Simon turns heads wherever he goes. Simon is the definition of friendly—he’s never met a stranger! He gets along wonderfully with all dogs and absolutely adores people. His affectionate, happy-go-lucky personality makes him a joy to be around. Sadly, Simon found himself at the shelter when his previous family didn’t have the time he deserves. But he’s ready for a fresh start with someone who can give him the love and attention he's been missing. He’s heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and will be neutered soon. Simon is smart, eager to please, and at the perfect age to learn. With a little patience and TLC, this lovable boy will thrive and become the loyal companion you’ve been looking for. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
