Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Sweet, spunky, and full of personality, Sweet Cheeks is ready to find her forever home! This little lady is potty trained (she’ll let you know when she needs to go!) and crate trained—though she’s not the biggest fan, she’ll settle in quietly through the night or when you’re out. Sweet Cheeks is a playful girl who loves attention, snuggles, and chatting with her humans. She enjoys her kibble meals three times a day and won’t hesitate to remind you when it’s snack time—her begging game is strong! She walks nicely on leash and doesn’t need a yard, but she’d certainly enjoy one. Sweet Cheeks does have a few quirks—she can be wary of sudden movements and prefers you don’t fuss with her paws. She may bark or even snap if startled, so a home without small children would be best. Her foster family describes her as fun, active, and affectionate, with a soft spot for plush toys, balls, and Benebones. She’s learning good manners and improving every day! Sweet Cheeks could happily be an only dog or share her home with another friendly pup. She can handle being crated for reasonable stretches and will always greet you with an enthusiastic welcome when you return. Whether you’re a single person looking for a loving companion or a family ready to add some joyful energy, Sweet Cheeks is sure to bring love and laughter into your life. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
