Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Meet Dean! This little fella came to us with his best friend Jerry. They are quite bonded and we would love to place them together but we know that can be hard. In the right setting we can consider separating them. Dean arrived in rough shape a few months ago. He had some significant cuts and lesions on his skin and was very emaciated and scared. He has been in our rehabilitation home together with Jerry and he is flourishing! He is the sweetest boy ever. He is so affectionate and sweet - just a gentle little guy. He loves nothing more than to be petted and loved on. He makes funny little hops when he is happy and is so endearing. Dean is still learning about leash walking but is getting the hang of it. For now, a home with a secure fenced yard is best for him. If he can't stay with Jerry, he will need another dog in the home to keep him company. Dean is a bit scared of men so some patience is needed there. He does not have a mean bone in his body but will flee from men who try to approach him too quickly. Jerry and Dean both had ringworm upon arrival and have been receiving treatment for that. They are in their final week of treatment now and once it has all cleared up they will be ready for their forever homes. You could not imagine a better pair of dogs. Jerry and Dean are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Their individual adoption fee is $450. If they can be placed together, their adoption fee will be $500. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
