Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Meet Calla — The Sweet Survivor Looking for Her Forever Person Located in Georgia 2-year-old female Calla’s story begins on the streets of Miami, where she was found tied so tightly to a fence that she couldn’t even sit down. But despite everything she’s endured, this girl’s heart is pure love — she just wants a person to finally call her own. Calla is sweet, affectionate, attention-loving, and absolutely devoted once she bonds. She warms up to women a bit faster, but with patience and kindness, men earn her trust too. All she wants is to be close to her human — truly, as close as physically possible. Dog-Friendly With a Big, Bouncy Playstyle Calla does great with other dogs, but her playstyle is rough and enthusiastic, so any fur siblings should be able to match her energy. Play first, think later — that’s Calla’s motto! Separation Anxiety & Crate Notes This girl struggles with being left alone and has some separation anxiety. She doesn’t love the crate because it usually means isolation, but she tolerates going in just fine — she just wishes her person could stay with her. Personality & Training • Super sweet and affectionate • Loves being pet and soaking up attention • Warms up to new people at her own pace • Very food motivated • Not a huge fan of baths or nail trims (relatable ) • Young, resilient, and eager for stability After what she’s been through, Calla is simply looking for someone who won’t give up on her — someone patient, understanding, and committed to helping her feel safe and loved. With consistency, kindness, and a heart ready for a loyal shadow, Calla will blossom into the devoted companion she’s always wanted to be. If you’re ready for a loving, velcro girl who wants to be your very best friend… Calla is ready to meet you. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and 6 month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
