Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Available Hildy Rochester, NY While Hildy may be young (approximately twelve weeks old) and on the smaller side (just about twelve pounds) she's already proving to be the total package: adventurous, playful, curious, and oh-so-loving. This little explorer has no fear when it comes to doing new things, meeting new friends, and discovering the big world around her. But don't let her bold spirit fool you, when the fun winds down, Hildy is just as happy to curl up for a cuddle. Hildy is currently living with two other cattle dogs; one is a nine-month-old female who she can't get enough of and a ten-year-old female who is in her grumpy golden eras and Hildy learned not to bother. Hildy also has met a ten-year-old goldendoodle male much, much, larger than her but it didn't stop her from wanting to be friends and play. Hildy is currently crate training and she's doing great! She may whine for a minute or two, but she settles in quickly and rests quietly. She has also picked up on house training rather quickly and has only had an accident or two since she has been in her foster home. Hildy’s Wish List: A family ready for puppy energy, training, and lots of love. Playtime with other dogs (she’s happiest with canine pals). A home that embraces her curious, fearless personality. Hildy is microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She will be adopted out with a spay contract. If you’ve been looking for a brave, playful, and affectionate pup who’s just as happy to cuddle as she is to explore, Hildy is your girl! You can reach out to foster home at nicolinabocciaoutlook or fill out an application .acdra/adoption-application.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
