Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Standard) / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Dublin! Dublin is a great dog! He has BIG energy and needs to be with an experienced dog owner and cannot be in a home with small children. My name is Dublin, and I am a Labradoodle. Iâve had an unstable last couple of months. I originally belonged to someone who kept me crated for many hours while they were at work, so I spent my puppyhood not being socialized properly. Although I learned a few basic commands, I didnât have the manners a dog of my size should have. When my human decided that they were unable to care for me any longer, I went to a rescue, where I was then placed into a Foster Home. While on a walk with my new Foster Parent, I jumped up on a woman passing by and nipped her pretty hard. This is what landed me here in the shelter. With all of that said, the shelter staff recognized that I am actually a good boy, who just needs the proper adopter and continued obedience training. This person will have to have the time to train me and to identify situations that might scare me or put me on the defensive. I am a giant love bug, bursting with energy and boundless curiosity. I like other dogs and would benefit from going home with another dog that matches my energy. Right now, staff says NO KIDS, due to my past bite, just in case. I will need room to run and canât be locked up in a crate for countless hours again. I would not do well in a small living situation. I will need regular grooming as all Poodles require and will probably have my puppy energy for another year or two, so seatbelts on! Love Dublin

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a mix between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Both breeds are excellent for children and families. The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Sultan, a dog from this litter, displayed all the qualities Conron was seeking and worked as a guide dog for a woman in Hawaii for ten years. Although Guide Dogs Victoria no longer breed Labradoodles, they are bred by other guide and assistance dog organizations in Australia and other places. The Association for the Blind of Western Australia has introduced Labradoodles into their training program, and their first, Jonnie, graduated in November 2010. Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs. The Norwegian Royal Crown Prince and Princess own a Labradoodle.
