Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Lower Fees! Meet one of our Hope dogs, Echo Rebecca, a 3-year-old, 51-pound Terrier mix. She was surrendered to us because her family was no longer able to keep her. Now, we’re on the hunt for the perfect family to take her home and keep her forever! She may be 50 pounds, but she is most certainly a lap dog at heart. She loves having people close by and curling up with her favorites. Need a pup to go on car rides to get a pup cup while you enjoy the new coffee flavors? She’s your gal. She may be a bit of a diva and a little stubborn at times, but hey, it’s a dog’s world; we just vie in it! Echo has done well with kids and dogs, vut we’re unsure about cats. She does not like being in a dirty kennel and will only only potty outside. She knows her basic commands and walks well on a leash! Great girl! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
