Description

Dog Breed: Pug (short coat). Please contact Cathleen (cathleen.proncgmail) for more information about this pet. Http:/.pugrescuenc/images/PRONC_Express.jpg Frank is a 14.7 year old fawn pug. Frank was surrendered to the rescue due to his family moving. He is very sweet and loving, who wants to be close to his human. Doing great with the other pugs in rescue. He suffers from chronic skin issues and we will work on those while he is in rescue. He is going to need to be on apoquel pills or cytopoint injections for life long control. Either of these will cost $100.00 a month. He also needs tacrolimus prescription eye drops twice a daily for life. He is currently on a fish based diet, no chicken. If this doesn't work then he will need to be on a prescription diet. Frank is still under vet care to get his skin figured out. Neutered, microchipped, up to date on routine shots, heartworm checked and on prevention. Franks adoption fee will be a $100.00 tax deductible donation. We are pleased to announce that Frank’s veterinary coverage is partially by Vintage Fur Senior Dogs Inc! Tuffy will receive $600 every year in veterinary coverage for the rest of his life. This money may be used to treat conditions and treatments including prescription medication, bloodwork, imaging and more. To learn more about the sponsorship, please contact Pug Rescue of North Carolina or visit htpps://.vintagefur.This money is to be used by the adopter... not while he is in rescue with us. We only adopt inside NC and VA and surrounding states. ALL PUGS MUST BE INDOOR DOGS! Adopt A Pet. . . Save A Life! .apugrescue Http://.pugrescuenc Email us: adminpugrescuenc

Overview:

The Pug, a charming and ancient breed, boasts a fascinating history believed to originate in China as early as 206 BC. Known for its distinctive flat, wrinkled face, large, expressive eyes, and tightly curled tail, the Pug's compact, muscular build is instantly recognizable. Despite their somewhat serious expression, Pugs are famously friendly, playful, and affectionate companions, often described as "clowns" due to their comedic antics. Their relatively low exercise requirements and adaptability make them excellent pets for apartment dwellers and devoted family members, thriving on human companionship. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, primarily their susceptibility to respiratory issues due to their brachycephalic (short-nosed) structure, as well as potential eye problems and joint conditions. With proper care and attention, the Pug offers years of unwavering loyalty and delightful companionship.
