Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. We recently visited with his vet, and she advised that Rogue is a "back of the pack" type dog and needs a ton of exercise that I can't provide as I work in an office. We've tried seeking training help and putting him on Trazodone to assist with his behavioral issues. He goes to "day care" (Playful Pawz in Kemah) twice a week and has a blast running around and "swimming" with all the dogs they consider to be "large". He walks well on a leash and/or gentle lead, and he knows his basic commands. He isn't a big cuddler; he prefers to lie on the couch or the floor near you instead of with you. He occasionally seeks attention for a few pets, then walks away. He's house and crate trained, and he's crated when we're not home. He does not sleep on the human's bed; he prefers the cold wood floors, and occasionally, he'll sleep in his bed. He's not toy motivated. He only enjoys nylon toys (we get them from BullyMake). He hasn't shown interest in plush toys or anything that squeaks or crinkles. He's also trained to travel in a car via a kennel (I have a Gunner kennel in my trunk for him). He can also travel via a harness and seatbelt (this is how he travels in my daughter's car since she has a sedan, and a car kennel doesn't fit). **** Breed: Central Asian Village Dog **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2189388&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
