Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Hi, I am Junior!! Age: 3 years - neutered and vetted Breed: Belgian Malinois Status: Professional Love Bug looking for a forever home! If enthusiasm were a sport, Junior would have a gold medal and a sponsorship deal. This handsome boy may have had a rough start, but you’d never know it—he’s got a heart full of sunshine and enough love to power a small city. Junior spent most of his young life in a shelter, so he’s still discovering what the world has to offer. Think of him as a 3-year-old puppy experiencing life for the first time—curious, playful, and occasionally forgetful about personal space (we call it “affection with enthusiasm” ) He LOVES people, learning new things, and being told he’s a good boy (spoiler: he absolutely is). He’s great on leash and stays calm around dogs and people—as long as they give him a little personal bubble. The Details: Does well with large dogs after slow introductions (he’s just excited to make friends!) Neutral toward livestock, poultry, and horses Finds cats very interesting—could be friend, food, or foe—but coexists nicely with a confident, dog-savvy cat Hasn’t met small dogs up close yet Making great crate progress, though he prefers a roomy dog run for now Commands He Knows: Sit / Sitz • Down / Platz • Wait • Heel / Fus • No • Kennel • Leave It (almost nailed!) • Recall (“Here”) Medium food drive • Medium-high toy drive • Low-medium prey drive (unless it meows ) Junior would shine in activities like agility, scent work, or obedience—he loves using that sharp Malinois brain and endless energy. Don’t let his good looks fool you—Junior’s smart enough to outthink most people, so he needs a confident handler who provides clear boundaries and a predictable routine. He’s mouthy and playful but improving every day. All in all, Junior can be whatever you want him to be—couch potato, farm hand, or sport champ. As long as he’s with his person, he’s happy. If you’re looking for a goofy, loyal sidekick with a huge heart and an even bigger personality—Junior’s your guy. Junior is located in Colorado, reasonable transport is available! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
