Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Happy, happy day, happy, happy people! We are Pretty Girl (black with a white chest, female) and McDuff (silver with black spots, male). We are 2 1/2 month old cattle dog mixes. Our current weight is 8.3 pounds. Fully grown, we should be between 45 and 50 pounds according to the puppy calculator. We are energetic and funny and cute. We are not house trained. We do walk on leashes a little bit. Our foster mama took us when we were just one day old, and even fed us from a bottle! She can be a bit overprotective. We spend a lot of time in our puppy pen, because it's safe. We live in a house with many other foster dogs and a 6 year old child. We both love to play and race. We like being held and petted too. According to our breed standard we should be easy to train, obedient, people pleasing very smart dogs. Like any other dog in our category, which is working dog, we will need training. Foster mom is adamant about training being super important for us. We're so cute and sweet! Do you think one of us could be the puppy for you? Apply today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
