We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Cardi is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 10/8/25 she had a dental polishing. We were told that Cardi is a standard poodle. We have no paperwork on her pre-rescue and no way to confirm this. Our best guess is that she is a poodle mix. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 48 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Cardi requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? A calm, consistent home will suit Cardi best — she’s not looking for the chaos of a busy household, but rather a peaceful space where she can learn and grow at her own pace. She’s still working on house manners, daily routines, and leash walking, but with patience and a steady hand, she’ll catch on quickly. Cardi looks to other dogs for guidance and reassurance, so she’ll do best in a home with another confident, gentle dog who can help show her the ropes. She loves to play and romp with her canine friends, especially other girls, and she truly blossoms in their company. What is my personality like? Life took an unexpected turn when her previous owner became ill and could no longer care for her, but through it all, Cardi has remained gentle, patient, and full of quiet resilience. The world can still feel a little overwhelming to her, but with kindness and reassurance, she’s slowly discovering that life is full of good things. When meeting new people, Cardi tends to hang back and observe before deciding it’s safe to approach. Once she realizes that your hands bring comfort and your voice means love, she melts — her tail wags, her eyes brighten, and she leans in for soft affection. Her caregivers say watching her confidence grow each day has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey. Cardi’s heart is full of love, and once she trusts you, that love runs deep. For the right family — one that leads with patience, gentleness, and empathy — Cardi will be a once-in-a-lifetime friend. How do I act when I first meet new people? Cardi is more of an observer than an engager when meeting new people. Other tips and tidbits: Cardi was surrendered to a shelter with no pre-rescue paperwork. The shelter shared an age estimate of 3 years and our veterinary partner agreed. We celebrate her birthday 08/15/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
