About Albert: • 1-year-old doodle mix (non-shedding!) • Newly Potty trained • Crate trained • Doesn’t bark or howl — seriously, he’s that chill • Great with adults, kids, dogs, and even cats • Very Gentle, affectionate, and easygoing once he feels safe Albert is a sweet rescue boy who’s come such a long way thanks to his foster Dad Andrew!! He used to be nervous about new places and car rides, but he’s made wonderful progress and continues to grow in confidence every day. He’s still a bit shy at first, but once he trusts you, get ready for his silly, happy personality to shine through! He’s happiest when he can stretch his legs and run in open spaces, but he also knows how to settle down and relax indoors. He’s incredibly smart — learns fast, follows routines, and understands when you set gentle boundaries (even during his teething phase ). Now that Albert has gained some weight and is in better shape, we will be scheduling him for his neuter. Albert seems especially drawn to female humans and may do best in a home with a woman or a calm household where he can continue feeling safe and loved. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
