Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Sully is such a sweet young man. He is just under a year (end of Nov is his approx birthday) and he is a big guy. But he loves everyone, he does great with kids and other dogs. He has not met a cat so we aren't sure how he will be with them though. He came in with siblings and parents to animal control and has not really had any training so he is still a work in progress but he is eager to learn and loves to earn treats. He would do best with someone who is able to continue his training but also help him burn out some energy, he would love to go on long hikes and maybe even be a good running partner. He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $600 To adopt Sully, fill out an application at .kakf/forms

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
