Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (long coat). Lindsey is a super sweet senior. She is a Chihuahua, long very soft coat, and as sweet as can be. Lindseys owner was no longer able to care for her safely due to mobility issues, so she entrusted her care to FMCMA. She needs work on housetraining as she had been using potty pads for past several years but has learned to go outside, and loves it, if given the opportunity. She has been spayed recently and had a dental. She is also microchipped. Lindsey is heartworm negative and updated on all of her vaccines Lindsey is tiny, weighing only 4.2 pounds. She is dog friendly but wants lap time to herself, so she may be best suited as a single dog in the home. She is very friendly and loves lap time and kisses. She really is the sweetest little girl!!!

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
