Description

Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Meet Jane — Playful, Sweet, and Ready to Steal Your Heart! Introducing Jane, a 3-month-old pup with bright eyes, a curious spirit, and a heart full of love. Rescued from the heat of New Mexico alongside her sisters, Jane is now thriving in Utah and searching for her forever family. Jane is the kind of pup who’s always up for fun. Whether it’s chasing toys in the yard, romping around with her doggy foster siblings, or just tagging along with the kids, she’s happiest when she’s in the middle of the action — or the cuddles. She’s sweet, social, and the perfect mix of playful energy and puppy affection. She’s doing great with leash training, and she’s quickly learning all the good habits she'll need to be an amazing family dog. We don’t know her breed mix just yet, but we’re excited to find out — thanks to Embark DNA (and a little help from Ollie Pet Food)! We do know this: Jane will be a bigger girl when full grown, so she’d love a home with space to explore, people to love, and adventures waiting to happen. Jane is currently in Southern Utah and can’t wait to meet her forever family! Her adoption fee includes: ✔️ Spay surgery ✔️ Vaccines (including rabies) ✔️ Microchip ✔️ Leash, collar & a starter supply of food ✔️ A whole lot of tail wags, puppy kisses, and unconditional love Ready to meet your newest family member? Apply now to meet Jane — she’s waiting with wagging tail and open heart!

German Shepherd Dog

A.K.A.: Alsatian, Alsatian Wolf Dog, Shepherd Dog, GSD, Deutscher Schäferhund, Schäferhund, Berger Allemand, Pastore Tedesco, Perro de Pastor Alemán, Alsatian Dog
Overview:

The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
